Palmerston Central – Stage 01, Darwin NT
Palmerston is a satellite business and residential community 20 km from Darwin CBD. Gaymark investments requested Woodhead to prepare a masterplan for a major retail development near the centre of Palmerston and to design and document the first stage.
Stage 1 involved the extensive renovation and addtions to an existing industrial building to provide 3 showroom tenancies with warehouse storage, customer parking and staff parking.
The project included the construction of a slip road entry off a major divided highway to serve the first and future stage. A service yard and warehouses are conveniently accessed via an existing industrial zone road at the rear.
Gaymark investments believe that good architectural design optimises the value of their properties and prefer lump sum construction contracts administered by the architect.
