Gaymark Winnellie Central, Darwin, NT

Winnellie is the original industrial zone of Darwin, now quite central to the city’s development. Gaymark investments purchased a disused Brewery Site and commissioned DKJ projects. architecture to design and document a new retail showroom/ Warehouse development. In the commercial portfolio market of Retail Warehousing coupled with the existing locations streetscape, the requirement for good architecture and design is sometimes overlooked.

Thankfully, Gaymark investments are exception to the rule and purposely sort the services of DKJ projects. architecture to design and document their project/

We understood our Clients requirements and not with standing the ever-present property development square metre return ratios, presented Gaymark with a desirable, functional and cost effective outcome.

Our design respons to its setting with strong forms, appropriate scale, ,material selection and colour. The long site frontage occupies a full block between side streets which provide access for a through service road along the rear boundary.

The development includes thirteen showroom tenancies with warehouse storage, customer parking and staff parking.

Construction was staged to maintain operation of the existing Brewery’s Marketing Office at one end of the site until it could be relocated into the first new tenancy at the other end of the site.
